The Community College Readership Program

The Community College Readership Program, brought to you by Phi Theta Kappa, promotes civic engagement and broadened awareness of current issues among two-year college students through newspaper readership.

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society with the support of USA TODAY is proud to provide a program that allows chapters* to supplement the quality education of community college scholars.

The newspapers feed student curiosity about pertinent world issues and increase awareness of news that affects their lives. Plus, the program promotes the habit of newspaper readership among community college students.

Your chapter is encouraged to consider using The Community College Readership Program as your comprehensive College Project required to satisfy Level Five, Activity number one, through the Five Star Chapter Development Program. The program is a scholarly endeavor and a leadership opportunity that can also be included in your chapter's Hallmark Award entries.

Your participation not only promotes civic engagement and opens your campus to the world, but also provides resources for students like yourself to complete their academic studies.

*Due to geographic circumstances some colleges may not be eligible for campus delivery.
